The Research Center was built in April, 2012. As one of the youngest research units of the Institute, the research center has been mainly focused on the international frontier of optical and molecular imaging technology, aiming to develop novel optical imaging technology (such as photoacoustic imaging, optical coherence tomography, optical microscopy, and optical molecular imaging), acquire a series of technology invention patents, design and build up a bunch of core components as well as the integrated imaging systems. The ultimate goal of the research center is to lay solid technology foundation for early disease diagnosis, detection and therapy, and to contribute to the development of the medical field of our country.
