Smart Water for Smart City Forum is held at Shenzhen

Recently, Smart Water for Smart City Forum was hold from 2nd April to 3rd April, 2018, at Gold Lily Hotel, Shenzhen Nanshan District. This Forum was co-host by Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science, Hongkong University of Science and Technology, China Computer Federation, Shenzhen Branch. 65 experts from Canada, China mainland and Hongkong attended this Forum.

 

The Forum is aimed to provide a communication platform for the governments, universities, institutes and companies among Guangzhou and Hongkong, to carry out academic exchange for the urban flood control and disaster reduction under the climate change. Research FENG Shengzhong, from SIAT, Director LIU Chengfei, from Shenzhen Water Supplies Bureau addressed the speeches at the meeting. Professor LI Xingwei, from Hongkong University of Science and Technology, Professor JIAO Jiujiu, from Hongkong University, Researcher CHENG Xiaotao, from China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research(IWHR), Researcher WAN Qilin, from Guangdong Institute of Tropical and Marine Meteorology, and Professor Jams Li from Canada Ryerson University and other 19 reporters discussed on the themes of Climate Change and Extreme Weather Forecast, Construction and Challenge Of Sponge City, Hydrology and Water Environment, including 20 academic reports. Doc. LI Qinglan, from SIAT, introduced SIAT’ research progress on the northwest Pacific Ocean typhoon intensity.

 

The experts and attendees contribute ideas and strategies about the flood control and disaster reduction and sustainable development among Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area urban agglomeration. SIAT should base on its own advantages of geo-advantage, unit the science and technology strength of Hongkong and Guangdong, make contribution to the future of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
