Andrei Sharf is a Post-Doc at the School of Computer Science in UC-Davis. He received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technion Institute in 1999, and an M.Sc in Computer Science from the Tel-Aviv University in 2002. During this time he spent four years working at a start-up software company. Sharf completed his PhD on "Surface Reconstruction Techniques for Imperfect Raw Data" in 2007 under the supervision of Daniel Cohen-Or and Ariel Shamir. His current research interests include surface reconstruction, geometric modeling, interactive applications and parallel algorithms. He is a Class A Foreign Young Scientist of CAS, and will join research at SIAT in September of 2009.

Daniel Cohen-Or is a Distinguished Visiting Professor of SIAT, a special-retain  foreign researcher of CAS, and Professor at the School of Computer Science at Tel-Aviv University . He received a M.Sc. in Computer Science (1986) from Ben-Gurion University, and a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science (1991) at State University of New York at Stony Brook. His current research interest includes shape modeling, surface reconstruction, and image synthesis. He has published over 100 papers on outstanding international journals and conferences, of which over 30 are on the very prestigious SIGGRAPH. He is the recipient of the 2005 Eurographics Outstanding Technical Contributions Award. Prof. Daniel Cohen-Or cooperates with Prof. Baoquan Chen on an international project of Shenzhen Scientific Plan, he is coming to SIAT as distinguished visiting professor in summer of 2009.
