ZHENG Wei

received his B.S. degree in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2003, his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011. His research focuses on biomedical optics, including fluorescence spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy and nonlinear optical microscopy.
He has developed a series of novel multi-photon excitation microscopy system to study the feasibility of noninvasive diagnosis of precancer based on the biological autofluorescence. For the first time, he discovered and demonstrated that hemoglobin can emit the Soret autofluorescence via two-photon excitation. His current study is to develop novel biomedical imaging methods that would aid in the understanding and diagnosis of various diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular diseases. He has authored and co-authored more than 40 journal and conference articles. He is a member of Optical Society of America, a senior member of Chinese Optical Society and a senior member of Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering.
