Center for Neural Engineering

Introduction

Neural engineering (also known as neuroengineering) is a discipline within biomedical engineering that uses engineering techniques to understand, repair, replace, enhance, or otherwise exploit the properties of neural systems. According to the rehabilitation needs of neurological and functional patients, the Neural Engineering Center mainly focuses on the exploration of basic theories of neurological rehabilitation, the proposal of frontier rehabilitation methods and techniques, and the development of advanced functional rehabilitation systems, by utilizing the latest theories and methods from neuroscience, medicine, informatics and other disciplines. The research fields of the center include reconstruction technologies of motor nerve functions, multifunctional neural prosthetic systems, neural machine interface technologies and intelligent rehabilitation systems, noninvasive screening and targeted rehabilitation technologies of hearing disorders, flexible sensor technologies and advanced methods of physiological information detection, and intelligence orthodontic technologies and systems.
