CHEN Shixiong

 

Chen Shixiong, Ph.D., associate professor in Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Doctoral advisor, Shenzhen Overseas High-Caliber Personnel "Peacock Plan" talent, Pilot talent of Nanshan district. He got his bachelor and master degree in biomedical engineering from Tsinghua University in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He got his doctorate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Arizona State University (USA) in 2012. Later he joined the institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology after his PhD graduation. His research interests include processing of biomedical signals (EEG, EMG and ECG), medical devices and instrumentation, pattern recognition algorithms, rehabilitation of hearing disorders, digital hearing aids and cochlear implants. He has published over 30 SCI/EI papers in top rated journals in related research fields, and submitted 4 national invitation patents. At present, he is the primary investigator of the Young Scientists’ fund of national Natural Science Foundation of China (No 61302037) and Shenzhen Governmental Basic Research Grant (No JCYJ20140610152828679). Meanwhile, he was the backbone member of the national key basic research program of China (973 program), the national high-tech R&D program (863 program), key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the innovation team of Guangdong Province. Member of the Youth Committee of the Rehabilitation Engineering Committee of the Rehabilitation Aids Association, member of the Rehabilitation Engineering Branch of the Guangdong Provincial Biomedical Engineering Society, peer review experts of IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering and other authoritative SCI journals.
